Field Experience

For pre field experience the Micro teaching and Simulation teaching are the main features to demonstrate the teaching by the expert teacher educators who are trained in teaching with smart boards and language learning to train the pupil teachers in speaking and listening languages skills (English, Hindi and Punjabi) under expert guidance. They develop material for correct listening and its reproduction and speaking which is inevitable for a teacher.

The student teachers are sent to different schools for actual first hand experience of teaching under supervision of teacher educators. B.Ed. student teachers go for two-week pre-internship in semester I & II for school observation and school-internship for actual teaching in the 4th semester for 16 weeks. D.El.Ed. student teachers are sent to schools as per the guidelines of SCERT/Punjab Govt.

The student teachers are also exposed to other field experiences through various activities and programmes organised by different clubs and associations. Various clubs help the student teachers through direct participating activities to increase the knowledge accumulation and awareness about different issues and problems in the society. In order to encourage students to participate in various programmes and activities and widen their horizon and experience which is more important for their all-round development, the college has following clubs:

  • Literary Club: for literary activities in different languages and write-ups.
  • Science and Environment Club: through which the people are made aware of clean environment, balance of Eco system, clean habitat, and preservation of natural resources. Awareness rallies and campaign programmes are conducted by the club from time to time and ensure the direct participation of student teachers in the activities.
  • Red Ribbon Club: the college organize the events and activities time to time in collaboration with Youth services, Govt. of Punjab for the awareness and sensitizing the current social issues that prevails in the society.
  • Cultural and Heritage Club organize the activities to promote our heritage and culture and participation in the events related to these, organize the tours and visits to historical places and cultural heritage programmes. The pupil teachers are given exposures and training to organize these activities.
  • Sports Club: organize various competitions and health awareness programmes and Yoga activities along with various games and develop the spirit to maintain a healthy body and mind.
